Discovering what Seminar to Do

Discipleship

Discipleship and Keeping new converts is about personal growth and relationship building. Each person needs a personal walk with God but we also need support and encouragement, leadership and direction.

"Many have an idea that they are responsible to Christ alone for their light and experience, independent of His recognized followers on earth. Jesus is the friend of sinners, and His heart is touched with their woe. He has all power, both in heaven and on earth; but He respects the means that He has ordained for the enlightenment and salvation of men; He directs sinners to the church, which He has made a channel of light to the world." {AA 122.3}

Some programs and ideas to encourage discipleship in your church:

Prayermeeting - attend prayermeeting regularly

SecretSisters - start a prayer warriors or secret sisters program

Health Seminars - put on some health seminars for church members. Alow them the freedom to disuss questions and issues that may not be appropriate for a general audience.

Bible Marking Class - hold a Bible marking class.

Sponser a church member for an Outreach seminar - Amazing Facts has an AFCOE to Go weekend program. OR contact your local conference.

Ask a conference leader to come to a seminar. Many local church conferences love to interact with their churches.

Put on a DVD seminar on Discipleship - Steps to Discipleship DVD Catalog: #313015 at AdventSource

Another GREAT seminar (less expensive than above) for learning about outreach: Contagious Adventist Leader's Kit Catalog: #4177909 from Pioneer Memory Church (Andrew's University)
