It's not my Calling

not me

I don't feel led to witness

"Do you realize your value in the sight of God? He says, Ye are laborers together with Me. Are you letting your light shine in clear rays to a fallen world? Are you seeking to exercise every faculty and every power which God has given you? You may not be a minister, but you can be a witness. You may not be an eloquent speaker, but you can be eloquent in living Christ, you can be eloquent in letting your light shine before men. A true, lovable Christian is the most powerful argument that can be advanced in favor of Bible truth. Such a man is Christ's representative. His life is the most convincing evidence that can be borne to the power of divine grace. When God's people bring the righteousness of Christ into the daily life, sinners will be converted and victories over the enemy will be gained." {HP 318} "Every follower of Jesus has a work to do as a missionary for Christ, in the family, in the neighborhood, in the town or city where he lives. All who are consecrated to God are channels of light. God makes them instruments of righteousness to communicate to others the light of truth." {ChS 18.2}

Jesus entrusted us with the Great Commission to go tell people about Christ and so as Christians we are called to obey.  You can always give someone a tract and leave it with them if you are too fearful to say anything. More on fear here.

We are called just as was John the Baptist: "He was sent to herald the Saviour's advent, and to call upon the people to prepare for His coming. So faithfully did he fulfill his mission, that as the people recalled what he had taught them of Jesus, they could say, "All things that John spake of this Man were true." Such witness to Christ every disciple of the Master is called upon to bear." {DA 219.3} Are you not a disciple of Christ?

"I have been shown that the disciples of Christ are His representatives upon the earth; and God designs that they shall be lights in the moral darkness of this world, dotted all over the country, in the towns, villages, and cities, "a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men." If they obey the teachings of Christ in His Sermon on the Mount, they will be seeking continually for perfection of Christian character, and will be truly the light of the world, channels through which God will communicate His divine will, the truth of heavenly origin, to those who sit in darkness and who have no knowledge of the way of life and salvation." {2T 631.2}

"It is essential that these who have newly come to the faith should have a sense of their obligation to God, who has called them to a knowledge of the truth, and filled their hearts with His sacred peace, that they may exert a sanctifying influence over all with whom they associate. "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord" (Isaiah 43:10). To every one God has committed a work, to make known His salvation to the world." {TDG 211.3}

You do not need to be led to witness to someone because the Great Commission already commands you to witness to the lost.  The question is not whether you should witness or not. The question should be:  I want to witness, but I don't know what to say? OR I want to witness but I am shy/scared.  Any person that is born again can witness to others and tell them about Jesus.  2 Cor. 5:18 says God called us all to be ministers of reconciliation.  You do not need any ministry credentials.  You just need a love for the Lord and a love for the lost.  Luke 10:2 says the harvest is great but the laborers are FEW.  God does need you. You are valuable. Jesus is coming soon and He needs all hands on deck to pull in this end time harvest.

BUT HOW we witness WILL VARY!!! Not all have the same talents! BUT ALL have a duty to take up the cross and follow Christ. We follow Him. What He did we do. There are lots of different ideas on how to witness in this website and we are just scratching the surface here.

"Every one must lift the cross, and in modesty, meekness, and lowliness of mind, take up his God-given duties, engaging in personal effort for those around him who need help and light. All who accept these duties will have a rich and varied experience, their own hearts will glow with fervor, and they will be strengthened and stimulated to renewed, persevering efforts to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling, because it is God that worketh in them both to will and to do of His good pleasure. --Review and Herald, July 21, 1891." {TDG 211.5}

As mentioned, talents and gifts vary SO IF you have the ability to talk with people you have a special calling to this work. Learn more about training to do MORE effective evangelism.

"Let those who have special aptitude, work for unbelievers in the high places as well as in the low places of life. Search diligently for perishing souls. Oh, think of the yearning desire Christ has to bring to His fold again those who have gone astray! Watch for souls as they that must give an account. In your church and neighborhood missionary work, let your light shine forth in such clear, steady rays that no man can stand up in the judgment, and say, "Why did you not tell me about this truth? Why did you not care for my soul?" Then let us be diligent in the distribution of literature that has been carefully prepared for use among those not of our faith. Let us make the most of every opportunity to arrest the attention of unbelievers. Let us put literature into every hand that will receive it. Let us consecrate ourselves to the proclamation of the message, 'Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'" {ChS 169.1}
