Bible Marking

Review:  Last lesson, we studied that how the Bible proves Jesus was the Messiah and that he is fully God and fully man.

INTRODUCTION: In this lesson we will learn how it is possible to have ONLY ONE God as declared in scripture, but yet we just studied Jesus was God?

GD-1     In creation God refers to Himself in the plural. Gen 1:2

GD-2     Jesus spoke of the unity between Him and the Father. Jn 16:26-2; John 14:8-10

GD-3     Both the Father and the Holy Spirit are in union with Jesus Christ in salvation for humanity. John 14:13-17. 26

GD-4     Paul wrote there were three persons. Eph 4:4-6; 2 Cor 13-14

GD-5     Jesus Christ’s last commission includes all three members of the Godhead. Matt 28:18-20

GD-6     We clearly see three distinct persons at the baptism of Jesus. Matt 3:16, 17

GD-7     Times in scripture God refers to Himself as plural (in most translations). Gen. 11:7; Gen 3:22; Is 6:8. We know this does NOT refer to Angels because Angels. Jn 1:3.

GD-8     For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 Jn 5:7

GD-9     We can't fully understand God because we are limited by being human. Job 11:7-9

The Bible does not use the word trinity but it does proclaim there are three distinct persons of God but that all three are ONE.

PREVIEW:  Next lesson we will study about the Holy Spirit.
