REACHING SOULS for CHRIST

Getting Starting in Outreach and Evangelism.

"All over the world men and women are looking wistfully to heaven. Prayers and tears and inquiries go up from souls longing for light, for grace, for the Holy Spirit. Many are on the verge of the kingdom, waiting only to be gathered in. When we engage with all our hearts in the work, we are closely allied to the angels; we are co-workers with the angels and with Christ; and there is a sympathy with heaven and with us, a holy, elevated sympathy. We are brought a little closer to heaven, a little closer to the angelic hosts, a little closer to Jesus. Then let us engage in this work with all our energies. Do not become weary in the work. God will help us. Angels will help us; because it is their work, and the very work they are seeking to inspire us with. . . . With one hand the workers would take hold of Christ, while with the other they would grasp sinners and draw them to the Saviour." {Ev 292-3}

"Every church should be a training school for Christian workers. Its members should be taught how to give Bible readings, how to conduct and teach Sabbath-school classes, how best to ...more >>>

7 STEPS for Outreach and Personal Ministries

steps

1. The FIRST step in outreach, and most importantly, give yourself completely to God. THIS does not mean you must be perfect, understand all of the Bible, or even be 'sanctified'. You can be converted in a day - Act 2:41 and ready to share the next! Click here for more on conversion.

2. Next step read "Christian Service" and/or "Evangelism"

There is also a study guide for Christian Service (click to download PDF) and a study guide for Evangelism (click to download PDF) you can use to help really infuse the message into your mind. While the book Evangelism was written for Ministers and Bible workers it has tools and information that are invaluable and this website relies on you accepting the truth in regard to Spirit of Prophecy's direction for outreach.

3. Go through the Stages of Evangelism

4. Download and read this "Getting Started Guide" - PDF and the "Personal Ministries Handbook" by the General Conference.

5. Discover where your strengths and talents lie, your Spiritual Gifts

6. Develop a plan for your own personal outreach or your church's public evangelism. Or better yet do BOTH!

Are you a Personal Ministries leader and don't know where to start? Try our System for Public Evangelism.

Scared to bring up religion with your friends, what do you say? Answers to personal questions and objections.

Not home much or travel a lot? How can you reach out? Literature Evangelism!

Not sure what will work in your area in terms of leading people to Christ? OR are you interested in different outreach and evangelistic programs but not sure which one to go with? Discover which seminar is right for your community.

7. Continue to grow and learn more about people, evangelism, and adapt your plan as needed. Learn more on understanding people.

NOTE: THIS WEBSITE IS UNDER ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION! If you have ideas please send them to us. Let's empower each other to spread the gospel. We try to add several NEW ideas and pages EACH week!!! We also have a Facebook page for discussions and encouragement.

If you are not SDA and have just happened upon this website I encourage you to start here.

How You CAN DO IT!

Public evangelism and Personal outreach are BOTH important and BOTH work at saving souls, but for different reasons and for different people.

public evangelismPublic evangelism often (but doesn't have to) 'collects ripe' fruit from those who have already studied or are very interested in learning more about the Bible/end times/spiritual things/health.

According to surveys, about 3% of your potential contacts will fit into this group. These people know they have a need and are actively looking for answers. Public evangelism includes prophecy seminars, Bible seminars, Creation seminars, Depression Recovery Programs, CHIP programs, etc.

Some of these seminars are not intended to 'lead people to Christ' but are aimed at people who already know Christ and are searching for Biblical truth. They are intended for the sheep "not of this fold". A complete evangelistic system will include programs that focus on meeting a particular need to facilitate developing contacts such as a health program or simply to meet a need as Jesus would do like a soup kitchen.

We NEED all types of evangelism. One is NOT more important than other, but for the individual Christian we must keep in mind public evangelism does NOT take the place of personal outreach. How to do public evangelism effectively >>>

Personal Outreach

So what about the other 97%? You need personal outreach! Now about 1/3 of these will not be interested even though they need God! But the other two thirds will be at least willing to listen if you are in tune to their needs and approach them correctly.

This is what EVERYONE is commissioned by Scripture to do - reach out. Everyone of use MUST be reaching out to souls in someway.

"Anything less than active, earnest service for the Master gives the lie to our profession of faith. Only the Christianity that is revealed by earnest, practical work will make an impression upon those who are dead in trespasses and sins. Praying, humble, believing Christians, those who show by their actions that their greatest desire is to make known the saving truth which is to test all people, will gather a rich harvest of souls for the Master." {CCh 62.5}

The more you love Christ, the more you are like Christ, the less you think of self, the more you think of others. How can we leave friends and family in the dark? Even the thief on the Cross shared his testimony before he died.
